Stairs are the hardest part of a flooring job and the first thing anyone looks at when they walk in. The staircase in these photos went from open framing to finished oak treads with the risers painted out. We do floors and stairs together because they meet, and a floor that does not land right at the bottom step is the thing you notice every single day.
Rebuilt and finished, with the risers painted and the treads stained so the two read as one staircase instead of two projects.
Newel posts, balusters and handrails set solid. A railing that moves when you lean on it was never finished.
Hardwood, laminate and LVP, with the subfloor made flat before anything goes down.
Because we paint too, the trim, the risers and the walls around the stairs get finished by the same crew in the same week.
